The party walks into the goblin warren and the goblins get their turn. Eight d20s, one at a time, adding four each time, checking against three different ACs, then the damage for each hit. By the fourth goblin the table has stopped paying attention, and by the eighth so have you.
Pick the monster, how many and what they're doing, and the AC they're swinging at. Every attack is rolled at once and each creature gets its own line, so you still know which goblin hit the wizard. The to-hit bonuses and damage dice come straight from the SRD stat block, full multiattack routines included: a dragon's bite and two claws, with the fire on the bite. Crits double the dice, and a natural 1 misses whatever the numbers say. From the Initiative Tracker it's one button, with everyone still standing already filled in.
